The Shocker's Mix 96
Some of the stuff I work on doesn't make the cut so I thought about gathering them up in a single post. So basically it's images I have little or no info about or I've decided that they don't get their own thread, for example, because of low image/content quality, lack of backstory or additional info/knowledge, possibly uninteresting, only one image but not very special. I still do the usual image work including upscaling and color correction as needed, as I prefer to have my content high quality and educational. - - - Case 1 Fig1.1 Head injuries from a helicopter rotor. Head injuries from a helicopter rotor on a passengers head. According to statistic reports released by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Team, your chances of dying in a helicopter accident are remarkably low, as there is less than one fatal helicopter crash per 100,000 hours of fly time. - - - Case 2 Fig2.1 Crushed head from a train. The head of this individual was crushed when he was hit by a train. Trespassing along railroad rights-of-way is the leading cause of rail-related deaths. - - - Case 3 Fig3.1 Gunshot in the mouth at point blank range. This individual has a gunshot in the mouth from a point blank range. Radial ruptures of the wound edges. There are no additional shooting factors around the wound. - - - Case 4 Fig4.1 Postmortem animal activity. The phenomenon of postmortem animal interference with human bodies or their remains is a substantial part of the taphonomic processes a body undergoes after death and animal depredation occurring after death is routinely encountered in forensic pathology. Postmortem injuries can be inflicted by all kinds of animals, irrespective of their size or environmental origin, whether from land, sea, or air. The discrimination between antemortem injury versus postmortem artifacts generally presents no difficulties because of the total absence of hemorrhages and reddening in the tissue adjacent to the wound margins and the lack of any vital reaction under the microscope. - - - Case 5 Fig5.1 Suicide through the mouth with a rifle. This man committed suicide through the mouth with a rifle, in the photo we see the exit wound on the back of his head and part of his brain and skull is absent. In the case of a high-powered firearm, the amount of gas generated by the blast is so large that a shot fired with the weapon in contact with the head causes extensive destruction. Discharge of a high-powered firearm into the mouth is associated with tremendous overexpansion of the soft tissues of the head and massive fractures of the skull. This causes vertical tears of the skin in front of the ears and along the creases on either side of the mouth and nose, as well as the inner angles of the eyes. - - - Case 6 Fig6.1 Maggot mass on corpse's face. Maggots cause most of the body's decomposition because the maggot will do the majority of the eating. Maggots have powerful proteolytic enzymes that aid the dissolution of tissues and facilitate penetration. The maggots are voracious and energetic, first exploring the natural passages, such as mouth and nostrils, then burrowing into the tissues. They secrete digestive fluids with proteolytic enzymes that help soften the tissues, burrowing beneath the skin, and making tunnels and sinuses that hasten putrefaction by admitting air and access to external micro-organisms. Successive waves of eggs are laid, producing new generations of maggots. Eventually, loss of tissue and drying makes the host cadaver unattractive to egg-laying insects, and the later stages of decomposition become free from maggots. - - - Case 7 Fig7.1 Mechanical asphyxia by accidental compression of the neck during a theft. A 44 years old male was found dead in the storage area of a fashion workshop in Milan, where he had entered in order to make a theft. The area was composed of two closed-off rooms, one next to the other, and a loft above. The access to the loft, full of clothes and clothes hangers, was only provided by a ladder in the second lower room. The floor of the loft was composed by wood panels. Re: The Shocker's Mix 96
Another great one! If I die with pets, I hope they eat my corpse. They've earned it. |
