The Shocker's Mix 82
Some of the stuff I work on doesn't make the cut so I thought about gathering them up in a single post. So basically it's images I have little or no info about or I've decided that they don't get their own thread, for example, because of low image/content quality, lack of backstory or additional info/knowledge, possibly uninteresting, only one image but not very special. I still do the usual image work including upscaling and color correction as needed, as I prefer to have my content high quality and educational. - - - Case 1 Fig1.1 Man dies from home made explosive. Anterior aspect of a man who had constructed an explosive device using dynamite. The device probably detonated prematurely, the blast disrupting the head and abdominal region. - - - Case 2 Fig2.1 Man dies from autoerotic activity. Fig2.2 He had a metal comb resting over a large electric burn on his abdomen. The deceased man had electrical marks on his fingers and lips, which were stained green from metallization from the brass fittings of the table lamp. (b) In addition, he had a metal comb resting over a large electric burn on his abdomen, also wired up to the lamp socket. No circumstantial evidence of suicidal intent could be discovered and some masochistic exercise or autoerotic activity was suspected. - - - Case 3 Fig3.1 Man attacked and killed by a bear. Russia. This individual was attacked and killed by a bear. No further info. - - - Case 4 Fig4.1 Decomposed head and fractured skull. Decomposed head and fractured skull of a person, who disappeared in the autumn before the river was covered with ice. The injuries have possibly been caused post-mortem by the ice packs when the body surfaced in the spring. - - - Case 5 Fig5.1 How blood can obscure the true nature of an injury. An example of how blood can obscure the true nature of an injury. In the first picture of a man with a gunshot wound of the head, it is impossible to identify the wound. In the second photograph of the same man, the body has been cleaned and the hair has been shaved from around the gunshot wound. Cleaning and shaving allows for proper documentation of injuries. - - - Case 6 Fig6.1 Victim of a motor vehicle collision. Depending on the injury type, severity, and location, persons who are victims of severe trauma may not be visually identifiable. This is a victim of a motor vehicle collision. Ultimately, if a reliable visual or scientific method of identification cannot be made, then other features may be useful in making a positive identification. For example, the location and appearance of various birthmarks, scars, implanted medical devices, or tattoos can provide sufficient information to be considered unique to a given individual. - - - Case 7 Fig7.1 This 66-year-old man committed suicide after being told he had cancer. Fig7.2 Blowout wound on left temple from the gases blown into eye socket from the gun. Billings, Montana - This 66-year-old man committed suicide after being told he had cancer. The entrance of the gunshot wound was in the center of the left upper eyelid and was a contact gunshot wound. On the left temple was a blowout from the hot gases coming out of the muzzle, the blowout entered the left eye socket. A 2 x 3" gaping exit hole was found on the left temple. X-rays found the bullet at the back of the head. The direction of the bullet path was different than originally thought, and penetrated, not perforated. Re: The Shocker's Mix 82
if there's anything the unnecessary black boxes do for me (e.g. case 6), it's show me where the facial landmarks are after someone's head has been destroyed. like, DESTROYED. poor case 7!!! GNARLY |
