The Shocker's Mix 48
Some of the stuff I work on doesn't make the cut so I thought about gathering them up in a single post. So basically it's images I have little or no info about or I've decided that they don't get their own thread, for example, because of low image/content quality, lack of backstory or additional info/knowledge, possibly uninteresting, only one image but not very special. I still do the usual image work including upscaling and color correction as needed, as I prefer to have my content high quality and educational. - - - Case 1 Fig1.1 Piquerism. Multiple stab wounds into the back consistent with piquerism in a case of sexual homicide. Piquerism (from the French piquer - "to prick") is a sexual interest in penetrating the skin of another person with sharp objects (such as pins, razors, knives, etc.). Sometimes, this is serious enough to cause extreme injuries or even death. Piquerism is a paraphilia as well as a form of sadism. - - - Case 2 Fig2.1 Dumped body. Dumped body (Illinois State Police case Highway 64). Animal scavenging on face and left arm. This victim was subsequently identified as a prostitute and drug user with arrests in both Illinois and Missouri. - - - Case 3 Fig3.1 Plastic bag suffocation. Cook County. The plastic bag prevents the physiologic breathing by rapid oxygen consumption and mechanical obstruction of the oral and nasal orifices. Inert gases are commonly associated with this type of death (see the tank on the right). No further info. - - - Case 4 Fig4.1 Patterned abraded contusion. Patterned injury on the gluteal area of a victim who jumped from the 5th floor of a building, impacting against the large, patterned floor. The shape of the lesions resembles the pattern of the impacted surface. In the picture, a rectal thermometer to record the body temperature on the scene is also shown. - - - Case 5 Fig5.1 Severe disruption of the face. This victim died after jumping from the third floor of a building landing on his face. Severe disruption of the usual facial architecture can be observed. No further info. - - - Case 6 Fig6.1 Stellate gunshot wound. Irregular, stellate appearance with a central defect surrounded by radiating lacerations. In contact gunshot wounds with bony tissue underlying the injury, the injuries are typically called a stellate wound, where the gases exit the barrel before the projectile. As a result, the gas collides with the bone tissue, resulting in the reflection of the gases. This gas causes the expansion of subcutaneous space and pressure, which results in an explosive injury, tearing, and lacerating the skin and subcutaneous tissue, resulting in the stellate wound. Additionally, the expanding gases also cause a back-splatter of soft-tissue and blood onto the firearm and fingers. - - - Case 7 Fig7.1 A suicide using a chainsaw to cut into the right side of the face. This individual committed suicide with a chainsaw into the right side of the face. No further info. Suicides, or suicidal attempts committed with power saws, are rare events. It is an uncommonly reported incident and the forensic literature comprises few case reports of chainsaw suicides. Obviously, using a chainsaw for suicide is an exception and is considered a violent method, more frequently used by men. These injuries almost exclusively involve the neck or the head region, leading to lethal central dysregulation and exsanguination. - Part 1 --- Part 2 --- Part 3 --- Part 4 --- Part 5 --- Part 6 --- Part 7 --- Part 8 --- Part 9 --- Part 10 --- Part 11 --- Part 12 --- Part 13 --- Part 14 --- Part 15 --- Part 16 --- Part 17 --- Part 18 --- Part 19 --- Part 20 --- Part 21 --- Part 22 --- Part 23 --- Part 24 --- Part 25 --- Part 26 --- Part 27 --- Part 28 --- Part 29 --- Part 30 --- Part 31 --- Part 32 --- Part 33 --- Part 34 --- Part 35 --- Part 36 --- Part 37 --- Part 38 --- Part 39 --- Part 40 --- Part 41 --- Part 42 --- Part 43 --- Part 44 --- Part 45 --- Part 46 --- Part 47 - This post is for educational purposes only and is nonprofit. Re: The Shocker's Mix 48
Great post as always, Herman ![]() One thing that really intrigued me is the temperature measuring shown on the thermometer shoved on the guy's ass. Higher than normal body temperature isn't expected on a dead body, from what I know... If that number is in fact right and the thermometer isn't broken, the only thing that makes sense to me is that he just died in that very moment or a few minutes before and had a fever. |
