Some of the stuff I work on doesn't make the cut so I thought about gathering them up in a single post. So basically it's images I have little or no info about or I've decided that they don't get their own thread, for example, because of low image/content quality, lack of backstory or additional info/knowledge, possibly uninteresting, only one image but not very special. I still do the usual image work including upscaling and color correction as needed, as I prefer to have my content high quality and educational.

Case 1


Fig1.1 Suicidal throat cut.

Spain. This individual cut his throat in a suicide attempt, the cut penetrated the thoracic cavity. No further info.

Spain. This individual cut his throat with a broken glass in a suicide attempt, the individual was suffering from a mental illness. No further info.

Spain. A woman who died as a result of stab wounds in a homicide. The injuries were multiple wounds to the neck and upper thoracic region.

Colombia. This individual was fatally struck multiple times in the face with a metal pipe, the lesions clearly show a circumferential pattern.

Case 5

Putrefaction begins immediately upon death and usually becomes noticeable within 24 hours. As soon as death occurs, the bacteria or microorganisms within the intestinal tract escape from the bowel into the other tissues of the body. As they grow, they begin to produce gases and other properties that distort and discolor the tissues of the body. The discoloration is a dark greenish combination of colors and is generally pronounced within 36 hours. As a result, the body begins to swell from the putrefactive gases, emitting an extremely repugnant odor.

The rate of decomposition depends on the temperature, ground conditions, amount of clothing, size of the body, etc. For example, a body in a warm climate will not only encourage insect attack from the outside, but will also increase the interior bacteria development and subsequent tissue attack from within. As the tissues inside are destroyed and enzymes released, the gases formed emit a foul and sickening smell.

Texas, USA. These photos illustrate the appearance of a crime scene indoors involving a high velocity weapon. The man had placed the 30.06 rifle into his mouth. Note that the entire mouth and major portion of the victim’s skull are absent secondary to gunshot wound through the mouth.

Why do people kill themselves with guns INSIDE the house. Be nice and go into the yard so no one has to scrub the kitchen (though it looked like it might be in need of a scrub anyhow!)

I couldn't agree more. One of the neighbors near me committed suicide by shooting himself, but he did it laying down in his back yard, out in the gravel area. No harm, no foul, and the area was cleaned by scavengers, and insects in the matter of a few days. They didn't have to do anything to the house except put a "For Sale" sign up in the front yard.

I don’t know why but I always think of the movie MASH when I see the suicide ones……suicide is painless with those for sure! Especially when you blow your head completely off! I know, I am old!
