Some of the stuff I work on doesn't make the cut so I thought about gathering them up in a single post. So basically it's images I have little or no info about or I've decided that they don't get their own thread, for example, because of low image/content quality, lack of backstory or additional info/knowledge, possibly uninteresting, only one image but not very special. I still do the usual image work including upscaling and color correction as needed, as I prefer to have my content high quality and educational. - - - Case 1  Fig1.1 A man cuts his own neck. Russia. At a local market, a man started cutting his neck and tried to remove his larynx, he then thrusted the knife through his neck with his palm. - - - Case 2  Fig2.1 Man cuts his own neck.  Fig2.2 This man committed suicide by cutting his own neck. No further info. Cut throat is not the commonly preferred method for committing suicide. Homicidal cut throat injuries are more commonly found in others studies. The most important task for forensic expert is to distinguish between suicidal and homicidal cut throat injuries. Therefore in crime scene investigation, the deceased's medical history as well as all autopsy and toxicological findings must be considered with a skeptical approach before being able to establish the manner of death. - - - Case 3  Fig3.1 Ceramic insulator kills a man. Russia. A high voltage power line was being installed when one of the ceramic insulator fell down and hit an oncoming car through the windshield and hit a man fatally in the head. - - - Case 4  Fig4.1 Man nearly decapitated.  Fig4.2 Russia. This man was nearly decapitated. Unknown if this is a homicide or an accident. - - - Case 5  Fig5.1 Suicide by hanging.  Fig5.2 This man committed suicide by hanging, furrow marks are on the neck from the rope. - - - Case 6  Fig6.1 Protrusion of the tongue and putrefactive fluid from the nostrils.  Fig6.2 Gases cause the torso and limbs to bloat during the bloating stage. Postmortem protrusion of the tongue due to putrefactive gas formation and purging of putrefactive fluid from the nostrils. At the bloating stage, the microorganisms residing in the human gut begin to digest the tissues of the body, excreting gases that cause the torso and limbs to bloat, and producing foul-smelling chemicals including putrescine and cadaverine. The gases under the skin also causes the skin to turn green and black. Cells in tissues break down and release hydrolytic enzymes, and the top layer of skin may become loosened, leading to skin slippage. Decomposition of the gastrointestinal tract results in a dark, foul-smelling liquid called "purge fluid" that is forced out of the nose and mouth due to gas pressure in the intestine. The bloat stage is characterized by a shift in the bacterial population from aerobic to anaerobic bacterial species. - - - Case 7  Fig7.1 Complete decapitation in vehicle-assisted suicide. In the countryside outside Hamburg, Germany, a car was found in a ditch. In the driver’s seat sat the decapitated body of a man, the seat belt regularly tied. On closer inspection of the car, the head was found behind the driver’s seat. Sixty-eight meters away (223 ft), a metal rope was found tied to a fence. The rope was 40 m (131 ft) in length and was tied in a loop at its free end. Gnarly. I don't know how anyone can slice their own neck let alone shove a large knife down their neck. Ouch. Great set Herman.
