I don't know...they did have to end his segment rather abruptly in the movie because of the accident. I feel sorry for everyone involved, Landis gets too much shit for what happened. Sure he broke child acting laws, but he consented with the parents. The prosecutor was a real bitch towards him and the film crew, she even hinted that Landis was faking his tears. |

Director John Landis and other defendants, which included producer Steven Spielberg and pilot Dorsey Wingo, were ultimately acquitted of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment. The parents of Le and Chen sued and settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. Morrow's children also sued and settled for an undisclosed amount.  |

If I remember correctly, Vic wasn't actually decapitated. According to one first hand account immediately after the tragic accident, Vic was found floating in the water, face up, and appeared to be intact. Upon closer inspection, it was then discovered that it was pretty much just his head and torso. I'll never forget Vic's scariest role - that of the prison thug in the TV-movie The Glass House (1971) - written by Truman Capote - who expects sex from a young man in exchange for gifts from him. When the young man refuses, he has him gang-raped in the prison gym. Afterward, the kid kills himself. That scene always haunts me. I wish we had a high resolution video of the accident. These clips are cool but of horrible quality. |
