Tourist Is Fatally Electrocuted By His Hotel Room's Jacuzzi
Ixtapa, Guerrero, Mexico A domestic tourist, 36-year-old Sagid C.C., originally from Michoacán, was electrocuted inside the jacuzzi of his hotel room on the night of July 22nd. According to the testimony of his wife, the family had reported issues from the moment they arrived at the hotel villa. That night, Sagid, his children, and she decided to use the jacuzzi, but as soon as they got in, he began to complain that he was feeling “electric shocks.” At first, they thought he was joking. However, the wife also felt a jolt when she got close to the water, so she asked her husband to get out. Although they turned off the system, the hydromassage system remained on, as were the lights at the bottom of the jacuzzi. Sagid was essentially fenced in. Despite calling for help, no hotel staff arrived within fifteen minutes. Desperate, Sagid jumped towards the terrace, but he fell into the jacuzzi and received a powerful electric shock. Medical assistance never arrived. Only a lifeguard came, with a defibrillator that, according to the family, didn’t work. Sagid died right there. The autopsy confirmed the cause of death as acute myocardial infarction secondary to electrocution. It took six days for the resort to issue a brief statement, acknowledging Sagid's death and promising to cooperate with the authorities. However, experts hired by the family were barred from access to the hotel, with the family expressing concern that the hotel would tamper with the scene. |

Re: Tourist Is Fatally Electrocuted By His Hotel Room's Jacuzzi
The muscles on the underside of your forearm involved in palmar flexion (palm to forearm) are much stronger than the ones involved in dorsiflexion (back of hand to forearm) and thus the hand curls. It's a similar reason that a person might get into a "pugilist" stance with brain damage. The biceps muscles, whilst generally weaker than the triceps, have better leverage to be able to exert more force based on the way the arm bends. |
