Re: Texting & Driving Dont Mix
I think there is just a different mind set in some countries... I too was in a bad accident and had a handful of strangers helping me before police or the ambulance came. |

LIES. Docfr8 got the order wrong. First you want to control any major bleeding. Then maintian airway. Just wanted to clear that out incase someone from here encountered a situation like the video and followed Docfr8's order lol. |

Remember, though, that 'Good Samaritan Laws' do not exist at all in many countries and even within the US vary widely from state to state in who they protect and to what degree. Fear of prosecution or civil suit for wrongly-applied 'aid' is perfectly justifiable for someone who doesn't know the specifics of the Good Samaritan Law in their area. Indeed, it is a valid protection for people offering aid in many places, but it is irresponsible to imply, as you did, that such laws provide blanket protections regardless of location or circumstances.

Fucktard.. if you know anything about emergency medicine.... Always maintain a patent airway... Control major hemorrhage, treat for shock.. Without an airway you don't have shit.. Take it from someone who has practiced combat medicine for 20 years FUCK OFF |

Re: Texting & Driving Dont Mix
Ok, so YOU have practiced combat medicine for 20 years. That means YOU are obligated to help people with a traumatic injury, not the average person. Just so you wouldn't miss the key words, I capitalized them for YOU.

Re: Texting & Driving Dont Mix
It's not about administering medical aid like you're a fucking PhD. FUCK YOU! If you are a fucking person who has a medical education or is practicing in the medical field...you are much more aware in how you can assist injured people while EMTs are on the way. I'm limited to my knowledge of how to handle injuries...But, i'd sit there with the person holding a fucking hand or touching a shoulder and letting them know they are not alone. Because I can only imagine the confusion and terror clouding your mind as you are writhing in pain or unable to move...or like that woman...internal injuries(?)...fucking hell...Give the person feeling that they are still here, in this world...and to hang on. I remember going to my job,6 years ago, delivering newspapers, 3 or 4 am. On the highway, came upon a crashed car and parts littered all over. I pulled over to see if the person was okay, I was scared shitless...I asked if she was fine. Called 911? I asked her if she'd have liked me to wait with her, she told me no. She was coherent, she was alert...but I still felt really uneasy about leaving her. But as I was about to turn and walk back to my car, she told me I was the only person who stopped to see if she was okay. She had said a few cars had passed her before I had come. And she freaking thanked me. When I got back in my car to drive away, I called 911 myself, just in case. But I had tears as I drove...because...another realization of how selfish people in this world truly are. To just pass by and not give a shit... |
