Actually looks like his head took the full impact - he didn't extend his arms before entering the water. That's like hitting a concrete wall with your head. Probably nerve/spine issues, disorientation, and then the finale.

I heard in an interview with a witness that he was too slow putting his hands together and hit the surface of the water head first. He was able to resurface two times, signalling for help, then lost his consciousness and got dragged under water by currents. They still haven't found the body.

Seriously, there were like 10 people ready to help immediately and they couldn't save him? Second guy jumped in with a fucking life jacket??? Really mother fucker? How are you going to dive down and save him with that on?
