Re: Performing the Last Rites on Biker Whose Neck Was Slit By Kite Line
I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt wherever possible - but it is quite possible he might have done something attention-seeking like post it to his social media afterwards. At least in the case of the dying man, at least that was better than absolutely nothing. I just see things like social media and smartphones as being so inextricably intertwined with society now that they're just literally impossible to get away from, even in the most extreme cases as these, and because of that, I at least personally would like to hope that that man's intention was at least somewhat pure, and that if he and the dying man were to somehow be transported into some past time (without cellphones), that he would still have done just the same thing for his fellow man, even without a smartphone in hand. |

I appreciate the sentiment. I’m a complete asshole on occasion and tend to think the worst of people at times. He was doing more than most people would do, that’s for sure. It just seemed “attention seeking” to me to an extent but he was praying with the guy while he passed away which says a lot on its own merit.

This almost reminds me of the idiot that was trying to help right a tipped handicap scooter while recording and then asking someone to help him. I just don't get it. Let someone else record you and be the good guy. |

Re: Performing the Last Rites on Biker Whose Neck Was Slit By Kite Line
in Brazil they use antenas on bikes, often along with a neck protector, to prevent being cut from kite lines with broken glass powder and glue (cerol) and the above chilean wire. Both are illegal but still used, of course.
