A 22-year-old motorcyclist, Bruno A.M., died after having his neck cut by a 'cerol' line on the BR-116 motorway in Fortaleza, Ceará state, on Friday afternoon (12). He was working as a ride-hailing delivery driver at the time of the accident. Bruno was able to park his motorbike and sit down on the curb of the highway before he died.

According to police, Bruno suffered an intense cut in the neck area, resulting in the severing of some blood vessels. Those responsible for the 'cerol' line have not yet been identified.

'Cerol' is an abrasive type of kite wire used in flying contests. Kite flying is extremely popular amongst Brazilian youth, but has led to some accidents as some children have chased after kites to prevent them from being lost. It appears in this case that the kite was ‘lost’ and ended up going astray on the highway.
