Poor guy. I remember seeing something very similar in a video from many years ago but at least he survived. This one didn't Amazing that he managed to get up and continue skating for a few seconds then her just ran out of fluid

First the play looked offsides. Second, it makes no sense that his leg is that high. It's not consistent with the ensuing contact. Third, the assaulting skater appears to be injured which could be an indication that he's faking to make it look like an accident.

I remember reading about a high schooler dying from the same injury not too long ago. I think it was in New England or a Mid-Atlantic state.

• A more traditional defense would have been for the red defender to focus on AJ and let his teammate cover White 42.

the play is clearly offsides. There is something very odd about this play. I'd like to see the whole game to see if he was retaliating for something previous

Looked intentional at first. My only guess is that he lifted that leg to counterbalance his weight after he hit the first guy. Jury's still out for me.

This isn’t the first time this exact thing has happened. I remember a similar throat slash around 2010 or so by a skate.
