Third Rail Electrocution
A man was killed when he came into contact with the third rail while crossing the subway tracks in Manhattan on Sunday morning and was then struck by a train. (I don't have that part) The 31-year-old was walking across the No. 6 subway tracks at Lexington Avenue and East 51st Street around 8:30 a.m. when he touched the electrified rail. |

Re: Third Rail Electrocution
He was fully aware of his situation. Interesting that he wasn’t able to move away enough to stop being shocked. Would have been epic to see the train arrive. Cool post!! |

Re: Third Rail Electrocution
I thought the 3rd rail voltage is so high that you instantly die?

Re: Third Rail Electrocution
Right. The OP makes it sound like it happened last week.
