It looked like he was going to hip check Johnson's teammate but was a little late. He ended up hitting the teammate with the top of his body which threw his legs into the air. At least that's how I saw it. |

If that was intentional, the fella performing what was essentially a roundhouse, would be signed up by contract killing head honcho's in an instant. Obscured view, skating at different speeds before anticipating Johnson's body movements, he'd have to be made from the seed of Bruce Lee and fucking Spiderman. |

You have to be blind if you don't think that was intentional. It was clearly meant to intercept him and prevent him from hitting into him, but I doubt he meant to necessarily go so high. Frankly, a kick should be the one thing you're not permitted to do in hockey, and the guy should definitely get some kind of serious charge from that, because he knew he was wearing a skate regardless of the supposed low risk. |

Reminds me of the Malarchuk incident. First thing he said was to get him off the ice so his mother wouldn't see him die, second was to ask for a Priest. He couldn't see how he was going to survive that slash.  |

he was trying to "check" or hit an attacking player got tripped up and ended up slicing the guys throat. it was a 1 in a million accident. very unfortunate end for a great player.
