I agree. These photos are eerie beautiful. Looks like a warzone. ''only'' 23 people died. Nearly 1000 were injured. Numbersare low when you know that this was in the middle of a residential area.  'A fire led to an enormous explosion which killed 23 people including four firefighters, and injured nearly 1,000. A total of 400 homes were destroyed and 1,500 buildings damaged. The first explosion had a strength in the order of 800 kg TNT equivalence, while the strength of the final explosion was within the range of 4,000–5,000 kg TNT. The biggest blast was felt up to 30 kilometres (19 mi) away. Fire crews were called in from across the border in Germany to help battle the blaze; it was brought under control by the end of the day.' Btw, when you go to the 3:50 minute mark you can something that looks like a person in a white thirt blown away.  · |

Yes it is a different post but the quality of the above video is much higher than the one River posted. Same exact footage but a lot clearer here. Can this be put on the original post as an addendum? |
