They were cut off. I had a double mastectomy on 11/18 with immediate reconstruction called a DIEP Flap surgery. My nipples falling off and the scabs are the after affects of cellulitis, mrsa & being septic.

If left untreated, it gets a lot worse. I’m lucky that I found the 1st mass early and an mri picked up the 2nd one early as well.

The MRSA was almost worse than the DCIS, that's so awful to be hit twice over like that
