I know there was a thread on this site with these pics. It wasn't part of this thread though. I remember I had never seen them til I ran across them there. Thanks for sharing! Easy to find now.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
There is hardly anything to be found in relation to the fatal crash of British driver Stuart Lewis-Evans in the 1958 Moroccan GP. But this photo is apparently post crash and the figure does look like Stuart and the uniforms of the surrounding soldiers appear that this could well be true. Stuart made his GP debut in a Connaught in 1957 and finished 4th. He then drove for the Vanwall team as third driver for the rest of the season and 1958. In 14 starts he took two pole positions and two third place finishes. At the final race of the 1958 season he crashed in flames after his transmission locked. He was pulled from the wreckage with terrible burns and died six days later in the UK. |

Albérico "Beco" Passadore during the 1964 Temporada Argentina de Formula Junior series in a Lotus 27 at the Gran Premio Internacional Ciudad de Buenos Aires race. Albérico lost control went through a fence and onto an embankment, the car continued over the grass and into policeman on a horse. Albérico's helmet was ripped off and he sustained a fractured skull and died soon afterwards. The policeman, Héctor Rodolfo Herrera, survived but his horse had to be put down. |

Carlos Avallone's Lola T140 F5000 car burns in the distance after he crashes during it's one and only race at Oulton Park in 1970. Luckily the driver was able to escape the wreck with minor injury.
