Re: Collection of Funeral Selfies and Social Media Posts Mainly From the US
Meh, idk about being disgusted with this. Diff folks/diff strokes. I didn't take any pics at funerals I've been to because I didn't know how anyone would react but my grandma took some of her brother and sister, but not her mom, dad or daughter and a friends sister took some of said friend in casket and I know one more who took onebof her mother. And all the years I been looking at death online I was still shocked when I just recently saw the post about that Indonesian culture who'd get their dead out and give them cigarettes and stuff. I was so floored I saved a few pics. My grandma started scrolling on my phone and found one. She zoomed in and quietly looked at it a long time. I was one the verge of telling her they were movie props because I figured she'd blow if she knew they were dead people being what some would think, played with. No matter that was their culture. Not too long ago some show we were watching had that very festival and she was shocked and bewildered at first learning what was going on but to my surprise not disgusted. From then she just appeared fascinated. Was interesting to me because she is a bible belt lady. My first funeral was my great grandma and I was 12 or 13 at the time. I was in there for the service stuff but otherwise I spent a good bit of time outside by myself and not in with other family . Some might have felt that disrespectful but it was just my way of not crying in front of everyone. That's still something hard for me to do. |

Ain't that the truth. I find it odd when people think its a cool thing to post shots of their dinner like anyone actually wants to see it or even remotely cares, but this takes the cake.
