I think the same thing about understanding "DEATH", could be accomplished with saying their goodbyes with the loss of a beloved pet. Expose them to death with that. Now maybe I would rethink my position if it involved a really close relative, say a parent or sibling. I have attended viewings and funerals where the children were disruptive. Not blaming the kids, they just did not understand appropriate behavior. And like ya'll state, culture and tradition.

The death of pets approach may certainly be an appropriate way to do it...among others...depending on the circumstances.
