Re: The Forensic Examination and Autopsy

We use bolt cutters to remove the best plate instead of a saw. I've never seen a saw used. I hate removing the skull cap, I feel like I'm breathing in bone dust......yuck.
We use bypass pruners (standard tree trimming type) for the breastplate - quick and efficient.
Everyone in the autopsy suite wears a mask when the saw comes out. We don't want to breath in that nasty bone dust!!
Great post and photos - been through lots of autopsies and they look just like that! The only thing missing, thank God, is the "aroma"!

Yep... that's how it's done.

Embalming that is harder. Take it apart, Embalm, and Put back together = Pain in the ass

Re: The Forensic Examination and Autopsy

Fantastic post. I don't find anything gross or disturbing here. Really thorouhg explanation of authopsy. But, i have one question, where are internal organs, are they back in the body or thrown away as medical waste?
