The ICC is not recognised, it is even threatened by the USA. So don’t expect them to do anything about russia as the USA still have them under sanctions and whatnot

For Europeans, the ICC is deeply meaningful.

mainly because many European states have very bad experience with Russia and know what they can do. For the past 30 years, Russia has had the opportunity to show in which direction it wants to develop. the Russian attack on Ukraine showed where and how far it can go. According to European thinking, this is unacceptable. And I don't want to forget how important it will be for states like Georgia, which felt abandoned in the clash with Russia.

The ICC in The Hague in this case, has the same significance for Europeans as the Nuremberg Trials. The only difference is that the convicted are not hanged

Churches have always been tools for the government and a way to gather intelligence.

Just look at how the Catholics took it to a next level with their "Confessions".
They literally made the public give their most personal intel straight to the cult leaders. No need to even spy on the sheep.
