In one wave of 21Feb attacks, IDF struck Lebanese media reported that six strikes targeted multiple buildings in villages across the Al-Bekaa region, leaving at least 10 dead and 24 wounded.

Among those named as killed were Hassan Muhammad Yaaghi, described as the most senior figure eliminated and the son of a former Hezbollah parliament member, as well as Muhammad Moussawi, Alizied Moussawi, Qassem Mahdi, and Hassanine Sablani. Lebanese sources identified the individuals as commanders.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, those targeted were operatives from Hezbollah’s missile array who had been accelerating the terror group’s force build-up in that domain. The military said the strikes were aimed at disrupting ongoing efforts to expand Hezbollah’s missile capabilities.

Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah

In a second wave of 21Feb attacks, five people were killed within hours in Israeli airstrikes stretching from eastern Lebanon to the south, targeting members of the Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah terrorist organizations. The escalation comes as Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam signaled from Munich his government’s “openness” to expanding its role in supervising the ceasefire mechanism and increasing efforts to disarm Hezbollah.

STRIKES IN THE SOUTH AND BEKAA VALLEY

On Monday morning, an Israeli drone struck two vehicles—a SUV and a pickup truck—in the town of Hanine in the Bint Jbeil district. One man, identified as Mohammed Tahsin Hassan Kashkash, was killed. The IDF confirmed it targeted a Hezbollah operative in the area.

The strikes followed an attack Sunday night in the Bekaa Valley, where an Israeli drone hit a Hyundai Tucson taxi on the Masnaa–Majdal Anjar road. The IDF stated it targeted armed terrorists from Islamic Jihad in the Majdal Anjar area.

Local media reported that the vehicle was driven by a Syrian taxi driver, Khaled al-Ahmad, accompanied by three Palestinians whose identities could not immediately be confirmed due to severe burns. Ambulance crews evacuated the bodies to Al-Bekaa Hospital for identification.

LINKING THE LEBANESE AND SYRIAN FRONTS

Israel’s actions are tied to recent arrests connected to networks operating near the Syrian border, suggesting that intelligence gathered in the Syrian Golan may have played a role in tracking and eliminating senior terrorists moving between Syria and Lebanon.

Syria

Syrian media reported that on 25Feb IDF forces bombed and seized from the Syrian army the highest peak on the Syrian Golan range. Expectations are that IDF will establish a forward operating base on that strategic peak. Last year, IDF used the same plan to seize and set up a FOB on the Golan range further south.
