Flight 1907, traveling from Manaus to Rio de Janeiro, tragically plummeted into the dense Amazon jungle after colliding with the Legacy 600, which was on a delivery flight from the Embraer factory in São José dos Campos to the United States. While the smaller Legacy 600 sustained damage, it managed to land safely with no casualties among its crew.

The extensive investigation into this devastating event focused on various aspects, including air traffic control operations, the functionality of transponders on both aircraft, and whether the pilots adhered to their assigned flight paths. Initial findings indicated that the collision took place at Flight 1907's cruising altitude, resulting in the Boeing 737-800's loss of control and subsequent crash.
