Uttarakhand, June 7, 2025 – A private helicopter carrying pilgrims to the holy Kedarnath temple was forced to make an emergency landing on the Rudraprayag district highway after experiencing a technical snag shortly after takeoff, this afternoon. A total of six people were on board the helicopter, including the pilot. All passengers were reported to have escaped unhurt, while the pilot suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment, according to news agency PTI. Several videos that went viral on social media showed the helicopter in a tilted position next to a cluster of houses, with the tail section reportedly damaging a parked car during the landing.

"Thankfully, no lives were lost, and the quick action of the emergency team is greatly appreciated," he said.

Authorities said the incident did not affect the helicopter service operations to Kedarnath, which are still running as usual.
