I am an American and what you say is exactly what I was taught. land = tortoise and water = turtle.

i like pigeons. started out with an inured commie and within a few years i had various types of fancy pigeons but never lost my love for the common pigeon. they sure have it rough. they aren't safe in the sky... eagles and hawks for example, nor are they safe on land... cats and people for example, nor are they safe near water... pelicans and turtles for example. sheesh, just about every thing likes to eat pigeons and squab (baby pigeons). crows, fox, rats, mice, catfish, *******, owls, opossum, raccoons, squirrels, monkeys, polar bears and the list goes on.

i have to wonder if the pigeon is one of the most common meals of any when it comes to feeding other species?
