Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Gotta say, after a couple of weeks, epic thread. Sad also. I rate that day as the most exciting day of my life. I can not remember a day that has been more suspenseful than 9/11 to date. Maybe when I will get kids but until that.. no. The day started with my sis´ dog chewing thru my LAN-cable. I had to attach the wires manually to get a connection. A day earlier I reveived a 10/10 fibre connection so I was kind of psyched to surf around the internet. A czech friend I had alarted me of the situation with the towers and after that I followed the local and international news with utmost interest. I remember the sites being stripped to the bone to meet the extreme traffic they serviced. It felt like 1995 when you surfed onto a news site. There was only one news item serviced to the reader. I suppose I will never ever experience something similar again. After the towers went down I left for work. I was 100% sure there was a WW3 going on after I returned home but luckily I was wrong. Bill, thanks for those pics. Amazing stuff. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Yeah that photo of the jumpers holding hands is not the original photograph. This one appears to be fake.... but there are several photos/videos still unreleased.... The NIST FOIA release doesn't have everything... some are locked up in news rooms/ people who didn't release their personal photographs/videos etc.... eyewitness accounts confirm that some jumpers came down holding hands.

Thanks guys, don't know how many of you venture into the watercooler, but I posted a thread there explaining why I haven't been here much lately. My hand is almost healed up all the way, but my temper remains volatile, and I still refuse to take shit, so who knows ? |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Have a PS3 and high def tv ? If you do, save those pictures to a cd, then load it on your PS3. You can zoom in and see the detail very good. That is a person that came from the South Tower, someone who fell or jumped, not forced out from United 175 impacting the tower. All I did was add a little color so some people not as experienced at seeing these types of images could grasp exactly what they were seeing. The man's intestines are hanging out on the level above his legs. When you zoom in, you will see what I am talking about. You can see RCA on the satellite dish next to his legs, as well as other things. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I can promise you some did hold hands on the way down, and more than just two. I can also promise you that some people had smoke coming from their clothes as they fell, though that was from the North face of the North Tower where the plane hit. Some just fell out trying to escape the flames, blinded by smoke.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Here is the highest resolution I have ever found of this image. You can clearly see letters on the microwave dish which identifies it as an RCA satellite dish, but you cannot actually SEE the letters. I have also included an image of the dish for those who do not know what it looks like. The 'grain' you see in the 9/11 image is indicative of a digital photo that has been zoomed in to maximum resolution. Any further zooming would begin to reveal pixelation. Also, this image has not been enhanced color-wise so what you see is the image in it's original color. If you have a higher-resolution version of this image then please post a similarly cropped section of it here so we can see the intestines that you mention. I just don't see how that shape resembles a mass of internal organs. As far as I can tell, it could be any object ejected from the WTC towers, like most of the other objects in that scene. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I do recall witnesses saying they saw pairs of jumpers holding hands and jumping out of the towers together. So I'm assuming someone must have cobbled that image together to help better illustrate that fact... and somehow, over time, the image has eventually become part of 9/11 folklore.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
which begs the question of motivation...was it made in the hopes of memorializing the reality of jumpers clasped in a final comradeship...or was it just an enterprising fuckwit?

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I am on an IPod, so I can't post any pictures right now, but I do have some high resolution pictures I will dig out. I am going to post a jumper picture soon as well. Still time constrained somewhat, but that is what your temper can get you, or rather does get me. Live and learn, or die and learn, though you won't retain information when you are dead. |
