Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Some of these 911 photos have been doctored. One example is this photo showing the WTC worker who was ejected from the south tower due to the sheer force of the plane's impact. It seems some clever person has been going around adding gore to some of these photos to make them more appealing. (Click images for full-size views).

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Another doctored photo... Perhaps created to draw one's attention to the areas of imagined or assumed gore. But in the case of the WTC office worker hanging on the side of the building... an obvious attempt to create something that is not actually there. Hmmm+ ...

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
It's always best to collect as much original source material as possible when researching 9/11 images. I have noticed in some lower resolution collections that images from unknown or fake sources have a tendency to appear... especially images of bodies on the roadways that are difficult to confirm as actually having been taken on the day of the 9/11 tragedy. Threads like this are great for sorting out the wheat from the chaff |

The last thing these poor people expected that morning was that they would end up committing suicide and before noon at that.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I tell people when I mess with pictures so they know they have been tampered with, the only way I don't is if somebody else tampered with them with out me knowing. That is why I asked if there is a program to tell if they been doctored or not.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
You bring up a great point. Not every image you find on the internet is what it really appears to be. Check out these 3 photos of the same jumper. All appear to look different. The first one is the original. The second and third are close up shots but the last one almost looks black and white compared to the other two. Some of the 9/11 photographs people find on the internet are not the original and are edited. This makes some of them appear strange and distorted, which is why people question the authenticity of them.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
One last point to make. A lot of people question the authenticity of the photograph of the two jumpers holding hands. The famous image that everyone see's on the internet is not the original photograph. I don't have the original but the one that has circulated the internet appears to be distorted and almost black and white. The first image is an original photograph of a jumper. The second image is of the two jumpers holding hands and the third one is a distorted image of the first photograph. The photo of the two jumpers appears to be edited or distorted similarly like the third one is....and as you can see the third photo has been edited to appear different from the original. Basically the point I'm trying to make is some of the images that might appear strange are usually edited and look different from the original. The original photo of the two jumpers holding hands shows a lot more color and is of a much higher resolution. If I can get my hands on the original I will scan it in and post it.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
It's pretty clear that the two jumpers holding hands is a fake. What some clever person has done is take the image of the single guy falling and inserted another jumper as well as adding flames from another image and placing it over the legs of one of the jumpers. The image must be flipped horizontally for comparison, but as far as I am concerned... the two jumpers holding hands never existed. It simply never happened beyond the confines of someone's PC · · |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
it seems that there are a number of possibilities as to the "whys" of the fakes...1. Someone wanted to represent the coupled jumpers in the absence of actual footage...or 2. wanted to make a name for themself...dallal's version of the falling man for instance seems a poor reinterpretation of drew's famous shot...
