Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Thanks for your input, and you're absolutely right. I just wanted to hear more opinions because the "shut up and get over it" people were pretty hard to listen too. So much for Never Forget. I know it's hard but you said earlier you were looking for your Jumper pictures and I think only a page or two ago you said you were having a hard time with what you needed your scanner for and we'd know why soon enough. Would this happen to be a Jumper picture? What pictures did you manage to take? |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
[QUOTE=BillthegravediggeAs a few were gazing out the windows, a poor black man came down feet first, though his knees were bent. The tips of his toes hit first, then his knees, then his body and arms. When his head hit, it shot both of his eyeballs out and one hit the window in front of the cop. [/QUOTE] That's so sad :( I remember from Biology at high school just how tough an eyeball is. We had to dissect sheep eyeballs and examine them. I literally could not cut into it with a sharp scalpel, it was to tough. I'm not surprised that they were one part that remained when all the other tissues were liquified :(

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
That is laying flat coming down like a skydiver, head down they can reach upwards of 180 mph. The way the towers set apart from each other caused some rather strange wind patterns, and that would also have something to with it as well. The towers were around 1,380 feet tall, and it took the people about 9.3 seconds to impact the ground. That would be close to 145-150 mph. I have to tell you Gee, it seemed like some fell even faster than that, while others seemed like they were falling in slow motion. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
True. There were a few people from various places that calculated the time and distance and came up with that number. Some from Popular Mechanics, USA today, The New York Times, and some others. They even went as far as consulting skydivers to get an estimate. One thing we do know for a fact, it completely destroyed them on impact.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I took several pictures. Some were pictures of all the people evacuating the sub-levels, I know it might seem stupid, but I was honestly amazed and how calm and orderly things were going. That is why I took the sub-level pictures. A couple were of the firefighter's post within the North Tower lobby. As we were going up the stairs, I heard a loud bang and saw people jump back and scream, and I knew exactly what the sound was we were hearing. When I got to where the people screamed, I looked out at the plaza and saw debris everywhere. I was not sure what some of it was, but other things were obviously human remains. I took a few pictures of the plaza, and the windows next to the stairs. When you would come up those stairs, the floor opened up and had huge windows. They were red with people's blood that had contiuously jumped, one after another. Maybe 25 feet over was revolving doors that led out to the plaza, and I took pictures of that as well. When one body hit, I was kida surprised by how close it was. I just held the camera out at arms length and took a picture, but it turned out blurry. I took a few pictures of the jumpers splattered everywhere next to the North Tower. I hate to say splattered, but for lack of a better term, that is what happened. No, a better way to describe it is they EXPLODED all over the ground. I was trying to get a bit closer to the windows, but NYPD "convinced" me to get back. They were just doing their job though. I also got a couple of pictures, the ones that fuck my head up worse than any others, of that poor woman and her unborn child. Things got fuzzy after that.........that still fucks my head up. I don't have to have a picture of that, I still remember every detail. That poor little baby's hand laying there on the concrete like that, no arm, no body, just it's little hand laying there. The rest of it had exploded on the concrete and had hit some small bushes that surrounded the big globe sculpter. I am not posting those paticular pictures YET, but I will. I will post a picture to show you how far out they landed in the plaza. You can see the bushes her and her child hit, and can see where they impacted the ground as well. Bear with me folks, I have had some serious trouble with all of this shit. It has just about drove me insane. I have to eat sleeping pills like candy to sleep, and if I don't, I wake up trying not to hit the ground, and then I am up for days. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Bill stay strong, I know it's hard and it upsets me when I hear people say to "Move on and get over it"....we should never forget the women who died in the towers on 9/11 who never had a chance to give birth. Below is a list of pregnant women who died working in the towers on 9/11. It's very likely the woman you mentioned is one of those listed below… I’m sorry if seeing this upsets you, but I wanted to pass on the information to those interested. Deanna Lynn Galante 32, of Staten Island Died on 9/11 in the north tower, worked at Cantor Fitzgerald Jennifer L. Howley 34, of New Hyde Park Died on 9/11 in the south tower, worked at Aon Corp. Helen Crossin Kittle 34, of Lachmont Died on 9/11 in the north tower, worked at Cantor Fitzgerald Vanessa Lang Langer 29, of Yonkers Died on 9/11 in the south tower, worked at Regus Plc Patricia Ann Cimaroli Massari 25, of Glendale, Queens Died on 9/11 in the north tower, worked at Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc. Sylvia San Pio Resta 26, of Bayside, Queens Died on 9/11 in the north tower, worked at Carr Futures, Inc. Dianne T. Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
She came from the North Tower, so that would narrow it down even further. The list did not upset me in a sense, just made me wonder who she was, did she have other kids, and how her family has adjusted since losing her.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Bill- I thank you for everything you have said and every picture you have posted. Since 9/11 I have weekly visited website memorials and read stories about this unbelievable day. I think people should remember the horrors and what these people went through in their final moments. Sadly I know some of the stories of the pregnant women above. Vanessa Langer actually escaped the building but died in an alley when the towers fell. It is doubtful that any of the pregnant Marsh and McLennan employees jumped due to the fact that their 5 or so floors were pretty much vaporized and took the direct hit of the plane(although somehow that woman miraculously survived and is in that iconic picture of the women in the huge hole on the side of the building waving. Based on what I have read, the poor woman that Bill saw probably worked at Cantor Fitzgerald or was Sylvia Resta from Carr Futures. She and her husband both worked at Carr Futures and both died that morning. She was scheduled to go on maternity leave the following week. The poor souls at Carr Futures were just two floors below the impact zone, and were all trapped. Alot of them made calls. The fire spread along the 92nd floor westward, and people did jump/fall from windows on the 92nd floor. According to what I read, from 10:05 am to 10:25 am the fire spread badly on the 92nd floor. I will include a link to a story about Sylvia Resta and her husband. It is quite sad. http://www.coalitionoftheswilling.ne...remembe_1.html |
