So it is a reasonable assumption there is a possibility the subject is concealing said weapon on him and is therefore a threat. 6 officers on scene. Reasonable given the nature of the call. Who decides who draws their weapon and who remains holstered. Draw straws? Bodycam deployed which does not tell the whole story despite what the video generation may think. For example the odor of an alcoholic beverage or marijuana. Or lower volume audio such as a possible verbal threat. A tense situation which led to a likely preventable tragedy. But it happened. This young cop brought a rifle to the scene because the 911 call said the subject had a rifle. You want to crucify him in part because he had a controversial phrase on the inside of his ejection port cover. It happened. It was a tragedy. It does not mean Mr. Shaver did not bear some responsibility for the outcome however. So MR ROOFY before making comments on something you have no understanding of and hurling insults of that nature take a deep breath and use your head.

Un fucking believable--you are just as bad or worse about assumptions and name calling as anyone commenting on here you just hide behind you badge the same as you accuse others of hiding behind a keyboard. Just because you are a cop does not nor will it ever make you right about everything. Pathetic! I've seen footage of unarmed civilians getting blown away in the states of all races. I wasn't trying to suggest it matters more because this guy is white.

The killings I've seen are appalling whatever the race, and I don't live in the US, and for that I am thankful. It's a rarity for anyone to be shot dead by police in the uk (or by anyone for that matter in comparison).

This case is particularly concerning because of the circumstances but the race card really doesn't need to be played at every turn.
