How did he get that trench on his face? Bullet grazing?
On his left cheek? Yes likely. A 5.56mm round from an extreme angle.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police

Wipe my chin off boy?? Brave comment from a SJW behind a keyboard. What's wrong? Did one arrest you for weed possession? Yes most people are sheep. Its a well documented fact. But to be protected from wolves, not controlled. I am all for the 2nd Amendment which empowers the sheep to protect themselves. I can back up my words with 22 years of honorable conduct in my chosen field. So yeah I get steamed when someone passes stupid comments about a group of people who are overwhelmingly decent. There are bad eggs everywhere including law enforcement I get that. I despise them as much as anyone. But overall its not the police who are the root cause. Look instead to high profile leaders who encourage attacks on cops and moronic cowardly local leaders who offer big payouts to dirtbags who resist arrest and get lumped up.
I don't have a problem with good, upstanding law enforcement officers. What I DO have a problem with is the ones that see themselves as judge, jury, and executioner. Was it really necessary to have 6 cops with weapons drawn on a guy who is crawling on the ground? Whatever happened to using non-lethal force to de-escalating a situation? I can tell that you are just as corrupt as the next thug in a uniform, no matter how "honorable" your career may be on record. You think of people as sheep, something that is necessary to be controlled by a savior such as yourself. GTF over yourself, because with that way of thinking, you are no better than the murdering pig with a badge.

Oh, and by the way, I have a perfect record, not even a single speeding ticket. So go ahead and make assumptions about someone else, since it seems to be in your line of thinking anyway.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police

'corrupt as the next thug in a uniform'? "no better than a murdering pig with a badge'? look who is making assumptions. How is this? I can tell you are a spoiled hipster in skinny jeans who hates cops and lives in moms basement. That's what you sound like. You don't know anything about this subject so although it may be a waste of time Ill explain- 911 call for a man pointing a gun out the window. Cops arrive. Observe male exit hotel room. Complies with order to hit the deck and crawl toward them. Becomes hysterical and confused (understandable) then ceases complying with orders and makes furtive gestures towards waistband. Officers see no weapon in vicinity. Even though initial call said rifle it does not mean actual weapon not a more concealable firearm. Some do not know the difference. So it is a reasonable assumption there is a possibility the subject is concealing said weapon on him and is therefore a threat. 6 officers on scene. Reasonable given the nature of the call. Who decides who draws their weapon and who remains holstered. Draw straws? Bodycam deployed which does not tell the whole story despite what the video generation may think. For example the odor of an alcoholic beverage or marijuana. Or lower volume audio such as a possible verbal threat. A tense situation which led to a likely preventable tragedy. But it happened. This young cop brought a rifle to the scene because the 911 call said the subject had a rifle. You want to crucify him in part because he had a controversial phrase on the inside of his ejection port cover. It happened. It was a tragedy. It does not mean Mr. Shaver did not bear some responsibility for the outcome however. So MR ROOFY before making comments on something you have no understanding of and hurling insults of that nature take a deep breath and use your head.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police

There is always a possibility a subject is concealing a weapon. So what happened to asking them to put their hands up high above their head and walk out, then lie on the floor with hands still visible?

What was the point of making him crawl towards them on hands and knees?

Why shoot to kill? Surely trained officers know how to disable a threat without lethal force.

And if he had drawn a weapon after all, what was the likelihood he could have brought it up and around, aimed it and fired successfully before the 6 cops with weapons aimed at him and body armour on could shoot first?

Face it, this was an adrenaline fueled trigger happy cop fuck up. When other cops defend this kind of behaviour is it any wonder people are suspicious of all cops?

Sorry but as I value animal life more than human lives I think he got what he deserved. Killing all those animals with a BB gun!?. It was Karma and good he got killed. He was deserving of not so fast a death though.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police

It's really worrying.

Anyone living in the US should be paying close attention to this. Deadly force should be an absolute last resort, not the default for "non compliance". How many innocents have been shot like this? What about the guy that had his headphones in so couldn't hear the commands and was shot dead for it?

What about people with autism having a meltdown or those with mental health problems or learning difficulties? They can't "comply".

The majority of comments here, when it comes to minorities who clearly were not a deadly threat (innocent/not resisting/complying/mentally ill/disabled/injured), but were executed by coppers any way, were HAPPY and felt justice was served.

Everyone's concerned ONLY because coppers are using deadly force as the first option on white people too! Equal Opportunity Executions. NOW there is concern.

Keep shit real.

1. He apparently was not complying
2. I am not familiar with the tactic of making a subject crawl toward you but I imagine the intent was to limit his mobility and limit his choices of movement. 3. We are trained to shoot to STOP. Not shoot to wound or kill. That means center mass. Its not like TV. 4. Would you stand there and let someone take a first shot at you if you aren't behind cover? Risk taking one in the femoral artery? 5. His female companion who he was drinking with complied and was not hurt.

Nobody should be executed for non compliance. But the reality is that many of these instances you are referring are wrongfully portrayed by the leftist media as executions when in fact they are not. Michael Brown for instance was beating the snot out of a cop in his patrol car and trying to steal his weapon. Evidence supports this whether anyone likes it or not. The media has an agenda and it also sells papers. The liberal courts have also taken many of the options away from police which in turn reduces the respect and fear the true thugs had for them. One thing we may agree on is that the younger generation of which the new officers are hired from is less well equipped for conflict resolution than his or her fathers or grandfathers were. But that's another topic.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police

Umm... yeah that's the way it is. I don't want anyone with no understanding of what is involved in these encounters deciding what happens to my livelihood any more than you want someone with a degree in sociology doing brain surgery on you.
Exactly. Beside that, it isn't like the cops that do the investigation are buddies of the cop in question; they are a separate entity and generally loathed by the line officers because they are so hard on them.
