his wife had the autopsy photos sealed he died because of two reasons 1 his set belt was too old old because he liked a worked in seat belt harness in stead of a newer more stiffer belt & the left belt snapped on impact 2 he wore a open face helmet & his face got crushed when he flew foreword his son also wore a open face helmet but never again after his fathers death he would have lived if he had a closed face helmet the impact wouldn't have killed him his face was not protected that's why you see no more open face helmet's in nascar anymore because they banned them soon after

picture 2 is where his seat belt snapped was not cut by emergency track personnel to free him from the car he was slumped over when they got to him

The speed and impact killed him instantly. It would not have made any difference wether he was wearing a closed or open helmet. Try putting your head in front of a car travelling 120 miles per hour. No helmet can sustain such and impact. The only good use of a closed helmet is to make you look pretty in your coffin and less of a mess to pick up when your brains are splattered all over the inside of your car. |

Shinya Nakano's rear tire exploded at about 202 MPH and he was thrown in the air landed on his fucking head dusted himself off and walked away virtually unscathed (Motogp).
