Seeing the crime scene walkthrough really makes you realize how horrible this shit was. Who kills 10 year old kids, let alone a baby at point blank range?

I can’t tell if they genuinely still had faith in humanity...or they were actually TRYING to start a national challenge referring to events even then, as the “worst in the history of The US.”

I still to this day live right next door . Also me and my family are frequent border to Tijuana crossers which this is located at the very last trolley stop and I think of this all the time. Very crazy

At 3:59 p.m. on July 18, Huberty entered the McDonald's in San Ysidro, an enclave of San Diego, California. He carried with him a 9 mm Uzi semi-automatic (the primary weapon fired in the massacre), a Winchester pump-action 12-gauge shotgun, and a 9 mm Browning HP pistol. The massacre lasted for 77 minutes, during which time Huberty shot to death 21 people and wounded 19 others. The victims were predominantly Mexican and Mexican-American and ranged in age from 8 months to 74 years. Huberty fired 257 rounds of ammunition before he was fatally shot by a SWAT team sniper, Chuck Foster, perched on the roof of the post office adjacent to the restaurant.

Although Huberty stated during the massacre that he had killed thousands in Vietnam, he had never actually served in any military branch. Eyewitnesses stated that he had previously been seen at the Big Bear supermarket and later at the U.S. Post Office. It was believed that he found the McDonald's to be a better target.

Jose Ruben Perez, 19 is laying on top of Rivera. Perez was Michelle's BF. They both desperately pleaded with Huberty to stop shooting. Huberty mocked their Accents before shooting Perez in the head and face 4 times with a 9 MM., he screamed and moaned and agony while being shot. Carnocros in shock,trauma and grief Wailed loudly, before Huberty cussed at her, called her a "Mexican Whore" and fired a Fatal Bullet from a 9 MM into her Chest.

Blanco Wife and Loving Mother, Blythe Regan Herrera( Nee' Jones), 31 is lying Dead on the Booth. Her Beloved and Devoted Son that she often doted on Mateo,11 is lying dead under the Booth on top of Perez. Blythe tried shielding Mateo from Huberty.

2:38. James Oliver Huberty, 41, the Bigoted Rust Belt Hick Sicko himself. He was felled in the Chest by a Police Sharpshooter and his 77 minutes of Terror STOPPED.

2:50. Claudia Perez, 9. Baby Sister of Jose Perez. Huberty sprayed the Pool little angel with an Uzi. Hitting her 8 times all over her body.

3:10. Paulina Lopez, 21. Friend of Teen Mother Jackie Lynn Reyes, 18 is lying dead on the right. Jackie is lying on the Left. Her 8 month old Baby Boy, Carlos is lying dead near her feet. Although she was born in Mexico, Reyes spoke English very well and had learned it while in Middle School.Reyes Pleaded over and over again for her Life and for her Baby Carlos' life. And told Huberty that she was pregnant with another child. She kept pleading and begging him not to kill her. Huberty called her a "Tjauna Slut" and Fired 2 Rounds(24 Bullets) of his Uzi into her. Carlos begin screaming and Wailing loud, Survivors said "It was like a Horror film about Vietnam. The Little Baby kept wailing and wailing, and then a sudden Gunshot and then Eerie silence ". Huberty killed the little Baby with a 9 MM shot to his back.

The remaining survivors have been incognito since 2004.

San Ysidro, CA. July 18, 1984. I remember it like it was yesterday... a real blast from the past. There is a documentary called "77 Minutes" which is pretty informative.
