Drug overdoses prohibit the heart and lungs from circulating properly. Fluid builds up in the lungs, and if severe enough, the person literally 'drowns' or suffocates in their own fluids. The froth is from excess fluid being expelled from his lungs. (Because it is mixed with air. Henceforth= foam)It also appears that his tongue is very swollen, which may be adding to strange appearance. Hope that helped.

He was using the rosary probably to pray to God that he didn't want to die. People often turn to God when they are alone and scared. I mean come on who isn't scared of death. Where you going to go when you die?
