Maynard via 4th Round TKO So, I was 7-4 on tonight's predictions, not counting the way the fights ended. My Awards: Submission Of The Night: Sonnen KO Of The Night: Edgar Fight Of The Night: Edgar/Maynard Upset Of The Night: Lauzon All in all, awesome PPV. I'll buy it when it hits DVD. Random notes: Cantwell and Schafer should be released, while Santiago should get one more fight. Real losers of the night: Florian and Guillard. I don't think Florian will ever get another title shot, while Guillard probably never will. Sad, I like Guillard but he got rolled tonight. I thought Phan/Garcia II was more entertaining than both their first fight and Garcia/Jung I. Sonnen's post victory call out of Anderson Silva was the highlight of the night for me. A real Loser Leaves Town title fight? On Super Bowl weekend? That would be HUGE. I can't wait for the rematch, Henderson will have to wait. I thought it was kind of funny that Edgar/Maynard III played out like their second fight. Edgar gets rolled, almost stopped in the first, comes back and wins it... Edgar vs Melendez will be the Fight Of The Year. |
