Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
I hear ya, now some theologians say that incest didn't kick in until Moses "laid down the Law" and that due to peeps still being nearly genetically perfect that the health issues related to it were not an issue. I loved the Bible because the Jews put a fuck of a lot of thinking into it to make it work Another tidbit: Methuselah, the oldest person that ever lived died the same year as the Flood. You have to do the math but the geneologies make it work. The Bible is fascinating (but I am an atheist now ftr) |

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
The bible has been translated so many times in so many languages it has lost its' meaning, imo. I believe in a higher power, but I don't call it God or Jesus. It's hard to explain, but its more of a collective sense of getting back to yourself. Amazing things happened when I started praying, but I don't know if it's just strength within myself I don't give myself credit for. It's a hard question...so many variables! |

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
I can understand that Kayo. I have news for people, God is real. He might not be to some, but they will find out one day, as we all will I guess. Something that kind of messes with me is that some people find it easier to believe that everything in the universe came about by chance. Out of absoloutely nothing came everything we see ? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I know everything to be absoloute, because I think there will be plenty of surprises for us all when we die. Some that think muslims are evil might be surprised to see a few come judgement day, and vice versa. People say prove God is real, and some say prove he is not real. How can you ? If he created everything we see, how can we figure him out when we don't have ourselves figured out ? Some say if God was real, he would not let things like 9/11 happen. He gave us minds to use, how we choose to use them is up to us. He gave Moses the law and ten commandments, that tells us he does not want stuff like 9/11 to happen. He also warns us that there is punishment for evil deeds, that also tells us he does not want us kill and torment people. If we do it anyway, who is to blame but us ? Don't get me wrong, I am not preaching at anyone. I am one of the worst "sinners" you will ever hope to meet, or hope to avoid I should say. The fact I am still alive after being shot all to hell, in some serious carcrashes, stabbed, overdosed a few times, too many fights to count with some resulting in serious injury, and recently I flipped the backhoe we dig graves with up on it's side.........someone has to be looking out for me, though I can not imagine why. |

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
Don't believe in God, if people claim that God is so great, why would "it" allow people in different continents to live completely different lives? Did "it" just randomly choose Africa as the shithole of the world? Just saying if God did exist, why did "it" create pedophiles? HIV? when I die I'm going to get cremated, anyways. Also, let's say God/Devil does exist and you are the worst human being in the world, kill shit ton of people and spread all types of diseases you carry to all types of people, and you go to "Hell", would you not be a Devil in the making? Therefore you would be treated like "God" in Hell. I hope no one responds to this quoting some verse from the fictional book "New Testament". I should say this, I was raised a Catholic until I decided to use this thing I have to process my own thoughts and not be controlled by a set of rules set in front of me by some people hundreds of years ago. In my opinion, "Allah" is probably the worst God created by human, a pedophile worshiped by millions. Priceless. Also the fact that anyone can think a religion up out of their ass and people will follow them (Mormons/Scientogolists) just makes religion a joke. I've been stabbed, got into a major car accident and I came out of a coma without thinking anything besides "DAMN I'M LUCKY" and I thanked the doctors. Modern medicine FTW. Also if God and Heaven/Hell does exist, I hope I go to hell, Heaven is probably overrated. Last thing, I respect everyone's decision and opinion if God/Devil Hell/Heaven exists, but when it gets pushed down my throat by crazy people, it makes me want to vent. Also LOL at Westboro Church, do they think they're going to heaven by spreading hate? Lmfao. |

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
Thanks for being honest and respectful. Some are not respectful at all. Just saying if God did exist, why did "it" create pedophiles? HIV? He didn't, HIV is the result of our actions, not his. He gave us our minds and freewill. We are the ones that fuck up everything. Pedophiles are sick fuckers, but again it comes down to free choice. |

Re: I Know I Am Stirring Up a Hornet's Nest Here
Yeah man no problem, some people that don't believe in God like to talk down on believers and other way around, I just respect everyone and their opinion/religion, considering it doesn't affect me in any way lol. I just hate when believer's go crazy on me when I tell them I don't believe in God. On a side note , Bill check out this thread before John gets to it : http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...d-death-98065/ |
