I’m from pennsylvania, same as the shooter, where we have closed primaries, meaning you have to vote within the party you are registered and if you’re registered independent, you can’t vote for either party in the primary.

The real truth is, it is so corrupt in AZ that it doesn't matter how you vote. It gets marked as democrat. But when I was independent, I voted for Trump without issue. But as I said, it's so corrupt I am not sure rules matter anyhow. I look forward to the day that we clean this state out. It needs it badly.
