Re: Father of Baby Born With Down Syndrome Keeps Him; Wife Divorces Him
So allegedly this guy was told that if he left his wife (not the one in the story, the one before) he would not get to see his 4 kids (including one with Down's syndrome) again. So he not only divorced her but left the country and hasn't seen his kids since |

Re: Father of Baby Born With Down Syndrome Keeps Him; Wife Divorces Him
she didnt mention it the whole time she was pregnant though? never once said 'honey, i dont know if i can do this' or 'maybe an abortion would be a good idea'....not even a 'if the baby is handicapped, then i dont want it'? the mother was an adult....who understood the ramifications of her actions. she obviously cant help not loving the child but the issue with the child wasnt her inability to love a child but her inability to love a handicapped child. end of the day, you still have a special needs child who's mother didnt love it enough and abandoned it. i dont think a 'good for her for walking away from her responsibilities and abandoning the life she created' is really the proper moral response in this situation, imo. |

Re: Father of Baby Born With Down Syndrome Keeps Him; Wife Divorces Him
I hold extreme scepticism for ANY 'woe is me' story that results in a gofundme account. How many times have high profile stories like this turned out to be scams? Almost all of them - Dana Moraeles; claimed she didn't receive a tip because she was gay- turned out to be a load of bullshit. Victoria Wilchers family; claimed they were kicked out of a KFC because Victoria's face was scaring other customers- turned out to be a load of bullshit. And let's not forget the black waitress who wrote 'none ******' on her own receipt, and the publicly humiliated a patron, because she was pissed she didn't get a big enough tip on a table she waited. That this couple was so sudden to split, then so quick to reconcile sends up a huge red flag for me. I don't trust this stuff anymore. |

Re: Father of Baby Born With Down Syndrome Keeps Him; Wife Divorces Him
So you're telling me that during the Great Depression of the 1930's not ONE single child was conceived or born? Duly noted.Must go down to my local Births,Deaths and Marriages centre and have the Birth certificate of four of my Uncles and my Aunties annulled . They were all obviously born at least ten years later. |

Re: Father of Baby Born With Down Syndrome Keeps Him; Wife Divorces Him
I agree the child hopefully will be better off without that women. But don't agree she did the right thing. From my understanding what she did was sign a paper that said kill my baby. But it all seems fishy. |
