I personally think the make my day law is very brutal and unjust. What if some homeless mother with a kid broke in your house for some food and a safe place to rest, technically they're committing a crime does that mean its OK to bash their heads in with a lead pipe or something? If someone broken into my house, unless they threatened me with violence I'd leave them alone. I'm a wimp, I also have my cell on me at all times and if I heard anything in the house that woke me up and made me suspicious I'd just have the cops come over and check it out.

Some people are just territorial and don't need to feel actually threatened before they blow a hole through a strangers head. It's the 'one less thief in world' mentality. Lose a thief, gain a killer. Hypocrisy at it's finest
