Bullshit they do.

The heavy metal sub-culture has no religious influence(except for christian death metal, or christian black(which is an oxymoron)) on it. Most metal is anti-religious, at best.

You can have culture without religion, and you can have religion without culture.

People seem to think they're the same thing.
Religion may have an influence on culture, but it does not create it.

people forget how many cultures christianity and other religions have raped and pillaged throughout history. how many traditions were destroyed and twisted by christianity in the goal to convert as many people as possible. not to forget how many churches and other sites were built on top of older religious sites to try make people forget about it.

but when the game is turned round and something christian or islamic is now forcibly removed, it's all of a sudden the worst thing ever.

it just shows how fucking hypocritical religious people are.

back in the 90s and early 00s i used to get approached or contacted by (especially) christians trying to convert me, just cause i wore black clothes or had long hair. or because of my user names online or my email addresses, i used to get people messaging on icq on a weekly basis trying to convert me. i can easily see how a stupid prayer could get on her mind.

one of my clearest memories from my youth was back in hong kong in the 90s, when the teacher was taking register on the playing field during a fire alarm. and she started giving one of my class mates shit for a chinese religious beads he had on his wrist,n she started telling him it wasnt a real religion like christianity and to take it off.
