Re: ~Whistling While He Works~
Makes perfect sense in mountain regions, isn't Everest full of mummified climber corpses these days? Too dry and cold for the traditional carrion to reduce your carcass to bones so nature needs a little bit help with that.

Re: ~Whistling While He Works~
It's a Buddhist contemplation of impermanence and the nature of life and death. Its also a reflection that the body is merely made up of many parts working together and not a solid entity.

Re: ~Whistling While He Works~
Not quite. For Tibetan Buddhists, sky burial and cremation are templates of instructional teaching on the impermanence of life. Jhator is considered an act of generosity on the part of the deceased, since the deceased and their surviving relatives are providing food to sustain living beings. Such generosity and compassion for all beings are important virtues in Buddhism. |

It's a Tibetan Buddhist sky burial. It's a kind of meditation on the impermanence of life and death. May seem morbid to westerners who dress up a dead body with make up at funeral but for them this is natural. It's also an act of generosity donations the body for the birds
