Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

Another factor is that the point of impact is just a bit past a turn. There's a good change Tony is focused on the cars ahead and next to him and not looking for or expecting a person out in the track. There is a very chance he didn't even see him in time to react to the hazard. Perception and reaction time to an unexpected hazard is around 2 seconds. At 60MPH Tony is moving at 88 feet per second. He will have travelled about 176 feet before he hits the brakes or starts to swerve. Heck, let's say he has super incredible fast reaction. Cut that by 50%. He would have to have seen the punk when the is still coming out of the turn to avoid him. I have experience in this area and this was probably an unavoidable accident on the part of Tony, but 100% avoidable on the part of Ward Jr.
You're an idiot. He just put the guy in the wall. The yellow flag is out. He comes back around to the corner where he just put the guy in the wall, but maybe he didn't see him? Is this TONY?

Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

If you can differentiate with your supernatural hearing Tony's car from the others, and he indeed accelerated, I would say it was because the impact with the front exposed wheel made his car spin to the right. For him to not collide with the wall, it would be natural to turn the wheel back to the left and give it gas.

Have you ever gone off roading, and hit something with your wheel, and literally have the wheel rip away from your hand?

What evidence from this video do you base your statement on that it was intentional? I have investigated professionally hundreds and automotive accidents. I can say with no doubt in my mine that based on the video posted here, the car swerved to the right because a 180 pound object hit Tony's right front wheel. I don't know Tony's history and could care less who was at fault. Just going off the evidence provided.
He didn't hit him with the front wheel dipshit. There are already lots of stories out and all of them say the back wheel hit him which jibes with Kanda's story.

Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

nothing super human about it... listen to it again. there were other witnesses there that said similar (or at least i thought i read that, but i could be wrong). i dont think he aimed to hit him but i think he was trying to get close intentionally.

your expertise had you misjudging the speed by 20 mph or so:

(source)

still, as i said, Ward Jr would be alive if he had stayed in his car.
Correct on the last statement but if you have watched enough NASCAR races, more than once I've seen Tony walk out on the track after getting wrecked and making gestures, or even once slinging his helmet at a drivers windshield. You can be sure this 17 year old kid saw everything I did and was just repeating Tony's behavior. Apparently Tony didn't like it.

Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

First of all, that driver was stupid enough to go onto the track in mid-race. He acted on his own and got served by oncoming traffic..
Yep. Not a good idea walking out in the traffic, but they do it all the time. Sooner or later shit happens. Sucks

Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

I read 60 MPH somewhere but lets say it was 40 MPH. Then he would be going 59 FPS. Takes about 118 feet to react to the hazard. Same outcome. He is paying attention to cars around him.

Did you even consider there was only 1.4 seconds from the time the idiot dashes out in front on car # 45 until the impact with Tony's car??? Tony likely would not have seen him until car #45 passed the idiot. If you think anyone react in 1.4 seconds to a ped that unexpectedly dashes out in front of you, you don't know what you are talking about.

So again, what did you base your opinion on Tony intentionally swerved at him, given there is nothing in the video to support that opinion? The only swerve in the video is post impact with the pedestrian.

The incident didn't excite me enough to read more about it than what I saw here, asshole. Same still applies regarding perception and reaction time. The rear wheel sticks out quite a bit from the the front wheel, so it would not be surprising the rear wheel could have hit him.

Re: Video of Stewart Running Over Driver Not Going to Be Up for Long

Oh yeah? Well they pace those cars at about 60mph. How about you go out there and walk in front of a 20+inch 18 inch wide wheel attached to a 2000lb racecar and tell us about it.
They pace at about 30mph and the car weighs 1375lbs. Semantics at this point.

Sorry I relied this bullshit bad information posted by Mr. Clueless that the car was going 60MPH.

If you want to pay me $4,000 I'll do a proper biomechanical workup and post the results here.

Don't you just love how eventually every thread here turns into a cafeteria food fight? LOL
