"An accident occurred at 6:00 a.m. today (7th) on Dapu Level Crossing Road, Nanzhou Township, Pingtung. An old man named C.W. broke into the road for unknown reasons when he was riding a bicycle. He must have had extremely poor spatial awareness. Doesn’t look like he was trying to beat the train at all and he thought he was far enough back

He did not look either direction for a train at any time. Maybe he was too senile - just focused on some destination and not conscious of trains at the time. That happens to old people. Excellent footage though. Very dramatic. |

I believe this was deliberate. It’s difficult to see but he is watching the train coming, in fact at :13 he starts going a little faster in order to meet the train. |

You don’t see it? Just before he crossed the first set of tracks? He looks towards the camera first, then the other way, just before he starts purposefully moving across the tracks.  |
