I have friends in the UK; Police, Military and CSI no less. You Britt's are foolish, there is far more gun crime than the media talks about or reports. But since you are so accustomed to being "ruled", you naturally roll over and take what the media says as gospel; I truly feel sorry for you… Some men are ok with being "ruled" and "taken care of"; I hope for your sake your rulers give you what you want. Since, if they so choose to ever do whatever they want, you, will have ZERO ABILITY to make them stop, PERIOD… Some of us believe in the ultimate freedom, and the ability to harm anyone who so chooses to impinge on that freedom. The elected here in America are PUBLIC SERVANTS, if they ever forget that, there is a simple fix we have that is protected by the Constitution of our Country. The people of Countries like those in Europe forget how costly freedom is. Its the most expensive commodity on the planet; paid for by the blood of our heroes and the tears for our fallen… Im truly amazed how many people on this site are foolish enough to blame a firearm for violence! Right under your friggin fingertips are TERABYTES of reasons to be armed. Shovels, machetes, knives, screw drivers, saws, bats, CARS, etc. etc. ETC. are killing people everywhere, how stupid do you have to be to think murder stops when guns go away? You need HELP… The problem's in America have nothing to do with guns. We are lazy; parents let Xbox and YouTube educate their children instead of instilling morals and proper manors. Violent video games and movies to uneducated kids are VERY dangerous. The school's suck. Then when the children with no morals start acting like fools, we simply medicate them until they comply. If guns caused violence the Police stations must be the most dangerous places on the planet! 5:1 Guns to people ratio. Heck, gun shows must be all out genocide! How many guns and bullets per person are at gun shows? Why do we never have murderous shooting rampages at these places? The absolute peril!  |

This was just a quick trip to show a few kids how to shoot (their first time). Suppressed 22's make great teaching tools! Funny how in the UK you can buy a suppressor "over the counter" and in certain areas they are "required" (so you don't "noise pollute") but in the US you have to pay a $200 "tax stamp" and wait 4-10 months. By the way, you can EASILY own the Barrett 50 BMG in this photo in the UK as well.   |

What a nice collection. You're absolutely correct about the suppressor making an excellent training tool for young shooters. I would love to have a .22 pistol with one for my girls...in California they're difficult to get even with the Federal tax stamp. We used suppressors at work on 14.5 inch M-4's and they saved my ears, but the soot and power residue kept getting on my shooting glasses and crapping up my vision. But, no hot ear phones to get in the way and no sparks to set off chemicals from some of the labs.

I respect your opinion, but please don't stereotype all British people as ignorant to what is actually going on in the world like that. If that was the case there wouldn't be any Brits on here or liveleak or other such sites would there? Yeah we have mainstream news channels like BBC News, Sky News, Russia Today, Al Jazeera etc that constantly place media blackouts on huge protests and sugar-coat the war news, but anyone here with half a brain knows we are being constantly lied to by our leaders and media. And on that note, don't come across so high and mighty like your government and media aren't corrupt and perpetual liars. You have to remember that although we are political cousins, we have very different cultures and traditions. Our country is a Monarchy and is much older than yours. We have a lot of old laws that were made by Kings and Queens back in the day. And yes of course there is gun crime in the UK, but it's mostly 'gang on gang' violence and the odd robbery. Imo, a bunch of lowlife scum shooting each other and the odd store getting robbed doesn't warrant letting every Tom, Dick and Harry in the country own a weapon that can kill someone with a squeeze of a trigger. Like you said - Parents don't teach their kids morals which is a cause of delinquency and crime, and there's a lot of kids with no morals over here too, but they won't go out and buy a gun. But give them a gun and they'll probably go around all pewpewpew like silly little cunts and then everyone needs a gun to protect themselves. As for 'ultimate freedom', I can hardly imagine the citizens of America storming the White House and overthrowing the government. Just because you can buy guns at the supermarket it doesn't mean your citizens are any more free than the next civilized western nation. |

Im sorry for the confusion, please let me explain better. I was referring to Britt's as "whole" or "majority"; I did not mean it as "absolute". There are always "exceptions to the norm"... I apologize if that was how I came across to you or others. Believe me when I say that our media here is certainly no better and most likely just as bad. Liberal media in general have a perpensity for skewing the facts in order to get the desired results. There is no such thing as truly "un-biased" media, anywhere. Thats whats great about this site, you get the raw footage and it hasn't been edited together by MSNBC or the BBC. I completely agree and understand. My point I was trying to make is that guns don't kill people. There are many heavily armed societies around the world who do not have abnormally high murder rates. The Swiss are a great example, so are the Israelis. Both have a very common set of factor's involved; Conscripted Militaries (Militias) and strong family culture. Luckily for you Britt's, your society and family structure are much better than ours. Mental health is the single largest factor in violent crime rates. I would be willing to bet this has much more of a factor in your Country than the lack of regular gun ownership. Even with less guns, the UK still has a proportionately higher violent crime rate than many other Countries. Remember, there are many factors that skew the crime statistics that others have already mentioned (Cop involved shootings, suicides, etc.) Well I can tell you from friends in law enforcement over there that getting an illegal gun on the streets is a simple task. The difference is like you stated, for the most part, your citizenry aren't motivated much in that direction, its mostly organized crime. Plus as a national "heritage" most would rather go to a rugby game than a hunting club. There is a very dangerous wild card, religious radicals who are flooding through your borders. The recent beheading my Muslim extremists was the first, but not the last. I seriously fear for your people... Well I guess we can agree on the "storming the White House". That is not very likely, but it also isn't necessary. Have you seen the "Cliven Bundy" incidence here? That is the kind of thing I'm talking about. People standing up and baring arms directly in the face of Police/Military and saying they won't do what they say is something you will be seeing much more of in the coming years. Things went very different in Tiananmen Square eh? How much Communism would you likely see in China if the civi's were armed? What do you think would happen if our Government "carpet bombed" North Korea's cities with M-16's and Glocks? How long would North Korea remain a dictatorship? Regardless of personal opinions and differences I'm the kind of person who would fight and die for your right to tell me to fuck off. Freedom…the only thing in this world that matters most is often times the first thing taken for grated when times get rough. How many rights would you give up if your family was starving? If your children needed medicine? There is so much darkness descending on the human race, firearms are the only thing the good guys have to keep little glimmers of light shinning through... |
