Re: The Station Nightclub Fire Caught on Camera from Start to Finish
That was the reason so many people died. Stampeding in a herd mentality. That and the highly flammable acoustic foam. |

Re: The Station Nightclub Fire Caught on Camera from Start to Finish
I don't think it was herd mentality, the foam on the ceiling was ablaze in a hurry and the black fumes started choking people, they tried to get out fast before asphyxiating, also the burning stuff was dripping in flames from the ceiling, no normal people would be walking calmly while the melting styrofoam was dripping over their heads, many of those who managed to get out were badly burned and disfigured in this way. Flashover from thermal radiation occurred very quickly because of the flammable stuff on the ceiling and the premises being airtight, this meant stuff on the room caught fire spontaneously, including people's clothing. |

I went back home to Rhode Island over the weekend, and was able to stop and get some photos of the memorial. It is beautiful... but you can definitely feel the heaviness while you're standing there. |

Re: The Station Nightclub Fire Caught on Camera from Start to Finish
You are absolutely right... you would think people would learn, but it has happened a few times since the Station fire. That's why I make sure to always check for exits at a show and be super aware of my surroundings when at a club or bar. The first time I see pyro going off indoors, I'm OUT. |
