He got what he deserved, if you watch the criminal as he is dropping to the ground, he was charging the ex-cop with a gun in his right hand and you see it pop loose as he lands on his right shoulder.

I don't speak Spanish but I guess it's asesino that means killed. Like assassin. Comes from the word hashashin which means hashish user.

Interesting... My español is pretty weak but I think the Portuguese to Spanish translation in that news article is lacking, or Brazil has a different definition of "murder."

When I used Google Translator it repeatedly used the term murdered, but using a different translation app it said "killed":
