Re: THE REALIZATION THAT YOU'RE AS GOOD AS DEAD ALREADY.....
I feel terrible for the guy and I certainly WOULD be one to comfort him as he was laying there all fucked up and what not on his way out...However, from a legal stand-point, especially as a US citizen where the laws are fucked up enough and the medical system is decent enough to possibly save this guy, it's sad to say but you would be better off standing there watching him pass rather than laying down trying to help him or give 'em comfort for fear you could end up with a lawsuit on you hands from the victims family. It's a sad, fucked up, and backwards world we live in. |

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing. People are gonna gawk. Nothing you can do about that. But for the sake of a bit of decency, at least put an arm over his shoulder and help him get comfortable and wait for the inevitable.

Re: THE REALIZATION THAT YOU'RE AS GOOD AS DEAD ALREADY.....
I doubt it. I am a doer. In high school while waiting in line for the cafeteria to open for lunch one guy fell out of line and hit the sidewalk. He was partly out from under the walkway and and in the rain. No one moved to help him as he lay there convulsing. I ran up and dragged him out of the rain and then held his head off the cement walk while he convulsed and I asked someone to run for help. Not one person moved. No one spoke a word of advice or came to assist me. I will never forget the anger I felt at the refusal of everyone to help him. And even stranger is that this guy was hateful to me and I had learned to hate him on sight. But in spite of this I felt compelled to offer assistance when he really needed it. Why most people don't feel that I will never know. If I can see someone helping a downed person and they don't look like they need help I will stand by quietly until asked for help. Or I might offer help. But if no one is there I do give help without a request.

Looks like he is having a bad day. In order to comfort him wouldnt you have to crawl under that truck that just cut this guy in half? Seeing how fucked up the guy is from this truck, your rational mind is not gonna let you get anywhere near this truck.
