Kind of sounded to me like maybe he landed on a rubbish bin. Perhaps something flew out of it as he struck it?

Watch that one dude in the hat at the very end kind of look like he "excitedly" jumps as he runs towards the victim, like. "Oh Charlie, nice jump, could have stuck the landing a little better but that was near perfect! Lets do it again!"

What an awful situation for the police officer who tried to hold onto him. I can't imagine being in that position, and it's just unreal to see in a real life situation, as a situation like that seems like it's from a movie - someone struggling desperately to hold on while the person slips more and more. I hope the officers involved realize they did everything they could.
