The 47-year-old, who has not been named, was assessed as 'paranoid but no risk to himself' by doctors at the hospital.A man who plunged 50 feet from a Glasgow city centre hotel window was reportedly an "informal" patient at a mental health hospital. The 47-year-old, who has not been named, died on Friday evening after falling from the third floor of the Glasgow Central hotel, just a above Glasgow Central Station. Officers were in contact with the man before he fell in front of around 100 passers-by on the busy street. According to the Daily Record, the man had been reported as missing from the hospital and had been assessed as “paranoid but no risk to himself” by doctors. Anyone who saw man fall from Glasgow's Central Hotel urged to come forward It's also understood he was classed as a low risk person by police, but this was then changed to medium risk after cops reassessed the situation. |

So, another fucking crazy traumatizes the cops and the general public, and kills himself. Well, at least he did the world a favor killing himself, but seriously: The mentally ill shouldn't be allowed to simply walk around unsupervised. |

What do you consider "mentally ill"? Only violent offenders should be stripped of freedom like that. I read somewhere that the mentally ill are more likely to be the victim of a violent crime than t hh e perpetrator of a violent crime. Those that are a danger to themselves might need something like that and then it would have to be pretty obvious .
