Re: Military Helicopter On Humanitarian Mission Crashed - Eight Soldiers Dead
Obviously, someone forgot to put their phone in airplane mode. But I can understand the confusion, being in a helicopter and all...

Re: Military Helicopter On Humanitarian Mission Crashed - Eight Soldiers Dead
I was in a high speed car accident in which I had time to think. I knew it was going to be bad, probably fatal or very serious injuries and as we hurtled towards oncoming traffic there was nothing we could do as passengers but sit back and watch. The only thing going through my head was this is probably how I am going to die, but there is a still a slither of a chance of surviving and it's going to fucking hurt. I hoped for the second option but knew it was a long shot. We were doing about 70 mph heading straight towards a double decker bus and some buildings. I remember thinking I hope to god I don't burn to death. Looking back I am surprised by how much deep thought I experienced in such a small amount of time. Even seeing stuff, it did kind of slow down, I remember in great detail the drivers side window turning white then glass flying into my face but that must have been a few milliseconds. Overall, I was resigned to my fate, and it wasn't a particularly bad feeling because it was truly out of my hands. I imagine your experience for that reason would have been very different. |
