Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
Legal or not, if someone tries to bite any part of my body off, I’m shooting or stabbing them with the intention to kill. The cop was justified in this case. |

human bites can be fatal, believe it or not. our mouths are absolutely crawling with germs & bacteria that can cause life-altering &/or life-threatening infections, especially if the bite takes place on the hands. so yeh, basically it was a life or death situation that that cop was in & no possible outcome would have ended well for anyone involved given the circumstances.

Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
Especially given the fact he’d already had a traumatic brain injury and facial injuries inflicted BEFORE the attempt to bite his finger off… The fact that there are people calling this murder is disgusting. They tried the taser, they tried wrestling with him, they aren’t required to burn precious seconds systematically considering and trying every single possible use of force up the use of force continuum, nor should they ever be expected to. When the harm they face is serious and eminent and they reasonably fear it they can go straight to lethal force with no warning. If criminals don’t want to face this then they shouldn’t put others in fear of eminent serious bodily harm. |

Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
For a minute, let's set aside the officer's actions were justified use of force. A severe blow to the head could trigger a seizure and the cops fingers would have been bitten off. Your muscles go into overdrive during a seizure.
